(MDS) DELIVERS SOPHISTICATED EXCHANGE ORDER MANAGEMENT
AND EXECUTION SYSTEM TO THE AMERICAN STOCK EXCHANGE/ NASD.
Micro Design Services, LLC (MDS) was
selected by the American Stock Exchange (AMEX) and the
National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) to design,
develop and integrate a wireless hand-held computer system
and a booth support system known as BARS for the AMEX/NASD
brokers on the floor of the AMEX.
The BARS System routes orders, using
a sophisticated MDS developed routing engine, over AMEX's
existing 2.4 GHz wireless LAN to the appropriate executing
brokers in the trading pits. The hand-held computers provide
the capability for Brokers' to report their trade executions
wirelessly in real-time to the Exchange and to the BARS
booth management terminals. All activity in the system
is completely audit-trailed with the date-time of action.
The System is designed to support 300 booth terminals
and 300 wireless hand-held computers simultaneously.
