The New York Mercantile Exchange rolls out Micro Design Services' NEON II System
NEW YORK, NY and PARSIPPANY, NJ –
April 6, 2006 – Micro Design Services, LLC (MDS),
a leader in the design and development of trading and
support systems for the financial industry, today announced
that NYMEX has begun the rollout of the NEON II System
built by MDS. NYMEX contracted with MDS to build NEON
II based on MDS’s core futures trading technology
that is currently in use by the New York Board of Trade
and R.J. O’Brien & Associates.
The NEON II System provides the ability for NYMEX Member
firms to electronically route Futures, Options, and Complex
Orders directly to the NEON II booth trading terminals
via FIX. In addition, NEON II supports wireless electronic
trading tablets throughout the NYMEX and COMEX trading
floors that allow floor brokers to receive orders and
send back fills from the trading pits in a matter of seconds.
“We have worked closely with the NYMEX in developing
this product, and believe that NEON II will prove very
beneficial to both NYMEX’s FCM community and floor
operations by improving the efficiency of their markets.”
said Roman Szymansky, President of MDS. “By adopting
the NEON II System, NYMEX’s floor community will
have the tools necessary to compete in today’s rapidly
changing exchange environment. NEON II will provide the
FCM community with the speed of electronic access while
still maintaining the liquidity and price discovery advantages
of the open outcry environment”
