(MDS), UNDER CONTRACT TO THE NEW YORK BOARD OF TRADE,
INC. (NYBOT) HAS SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCHED A WIRELESS HAND-HELD
COMPUTER BROKER TRADING SYSTEM, KNOWN AS THE ELECTRONIC
ORDER ROUTING / ORDER BOOK MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EOR/OBMS)
FOR USE ON NYBOT'S FUTURES AND OPTIONS ON FUTURES TRADING
FLOOR IN NEW YORK. THE SYSTEM PROVIDES COMPLETE END-TO-END
ORDER ENTRY, ORDER BOOK MANAGEMENT AND ORDER EXECUTION
REPORTING CAPABILITIES.
The System, which was designed and
developed by MDS in close cooperation with NYBOT's staff,
accepts orders for futures and options on futures from
member firms through the Internet, using a web-based order
entry system. The System accepts orders in the financial
information exchange (FIX) format, through direct interfaces
to NYBOT from member firms’ back office systems
and from member firms' booth terminals on the trading
floor. MDS’s System routes the orders over a wireless
network to the appropriate executing brokers in NYBOT’s
trading pits. Brokers' executions are reported wirelessly
in real-time to the exchange and to the member firms for
customer notification. All activity in the system is fully
audit-trailed with the date-time of action.
