MDS SELECTED TO BUILD THE HAND-HELD
COMPUTER AND BOOTH COMPUTER INTERFACES BETWEEN THE AMERICAN
STOCK EXCHANGE, LLC (AMEX) FLOOR BROKER ORDER MANAGEMENT
SYSTEM AND THE AMEX’S NEW ELECTRONIC VERSION OF
THE AUCTION FLOOR KNOWN AS ANTE.
MDS was awarded the contract to develop
the ANTE interface between the Hand-Held Computer System
for the retail floor broker order management system for
securities, bonds and options and AMEX’s new electronic
auction market, based on OM Technology’s SAXESS
System, wherein every activity on the trading floor can
be carried out on screens used by specialists, market
makers and floor brokers through either PCs or hand-held
computers. When completed, the auction market will be
available on all of the up to 300 hand-held computers
that will be deployed on the AMEX’s New York trading
floor.
